Network Security

The internet is a whole new world.   It offers so much entertainment, information, and a faster way to communicate.   But it also brings many different threats.   Like the physical world, the internet world is dangerous to our computers and oneself.   If victim to an attack, you could end up losing money, information, and much more.   There are several different types of attacks that you have to look out for.             Email spam, phishing, and viruses are some of the things you need to be on the lookout for.   Computer viruses are the ones that most people know about. When you get a virus, the virus runs itself on your computer without authorization and tries to spread to other computers.   Your computer is at risk due to human error.   For example, if your friend’s computer gets infected and is trying to spread.   It will find your email and send you an email with an attachment...

Computers in the Workplace

I'm going to go with the construction industry, mostly glazier side of it. I'm choosing this because I know quite a bit about it. Glaziers have to work with glass constantly. Whether it is windows, mirrors, windshields, or insulated glass units; glaziers still have to do computer work. It's not much of programming or designing websites, but you have to use different programs each day. Most of it is not very difficult, but sometimes very time consuming. There are several different tasks that have to be done on the computer. The first thing is to be familiar will send and receiving emails. Each day, you have to check your emails constantly. If you get the time, just check it. There have been occasions when going through a customer's insurance that when we replace a windshield on a personal vehicle, the insurance company likes to send emails with a set of instructions and that if not responded by 48 hours then they will not pay. That's a lot of headache that can b...

Traveling Through a Network

I've known about ping, but never heard of traceroute. The ping activity was pretty surprising to me. I used the google website for here in the USA, Australia, and China. However, the ping difference had little to no difference between the three. The United States website is the one I thought would be much faster, but was only a few points lower.  Each trial had 4 packets sent and each one had 4 packets received with 0% loss. Each trial went through one IP address four times. But each of the four times had different ms. It makes me wonder if a different website than google would bring up different routes and more packets. More packets could play a factor in possible packet loss. Each of the servers passed without any failure. The traceroute activity I had a common server failure as seen below.  For each of the trials, number 2, the request timed out. However, each of the three traceroutes went through 13 different servers. This is suprising to me. I figured there ...

A day of my Life

·        Get daughter ready for the day o    Go to daughter’s room and grab her outfit for the day which Mom has laid out for each day of the week. o    Fill up one of her cups with milk, water, or apple juice. o    Put a waffle in the toaster and grab a new diaper.   o    When waffle is done, continue to daughter and slowly wake her up.   Using Baby Shark video is best.   She will usually wake up the ‘Pink Fong’ noise. o      Roll her onto her back and hand her the waffle and drink.   Undress her from her pajamas and put on a new diaper and outfit for the day. ·        Get myself ready for work o    After mom has left with kids to drop them off with Grandma, proceed back to bed. o    Watch 10 minute or less video on YouTube o    Grab work clothes and head to the bathroom o    Use ...

YouTube App Review

Image
I will be doing a review on YouTube because it is one of my most used mobile apps. Every night before bed, I am on the app. YouTube is an online video-sharing platform that was created by three former PayPal employees in 2005. YouTube was purchased by Google in 2006 and continued to grow. YouTube is an addicting app that will have you busy during the quarantine. Billions of videos are watched each day and videos are being uploaded daily. There are so many different categories for the viewer to get binged into. Whether you are looking to learn or share content, YouTube has you covered. 5/5 would recommend. The app is very easy to use. When you open the app you will be brought to your home tab which will be videos about your subscriptions, ads, COVID-19 news, featured, and suggested videos. It will look as pictured below: There are several tabs that you can go to and each one has different selections. The Explore tab will show you videos that are trending along with several differe...

Programing Languages

Using scratch was a fun and difficult experience.   It was my first time using a program like that and creating something of my own from scratch.   I have so many questions about the program to better enhance my project. The difficulties I had in Scratch was timing all my characters together at the right moment.   There are more things I struggled on and didn’t know what most of the blocks did.   It was a complicated time for me due to not having used any programs like it.   I overcame those difficulties by just plugging in the blocks and seeing what they did.   I’m still not a master of the Scratch mechanics, but I’ll continue to tinker with the program and broaden my horizons.   The insight from this program helped me realize the time that is used to create content and put together videos.   I enjoyed it, but not very good at it yet. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/383278826          ...
